Overview

At first glance of this barbecue made from Weber you might think well what’s so special about it?

I mean it looks like a standard barbecue, I can assure you that you couldn’t be further from the truth.

It is one of the first upgraded barbecues that Weber has done in many years.

You wouldn’t be far off saying that the only reason they even put this out into the world is because it is an improvement on what was already one of the best products on the market.

Weber Summit Charcoal

The way Weber has done this is simply taking the best of both sides and combined them to make a super grill. Those being the kettle grill and the ceramic kamado.

That’s right they have combined them into a durable, very efficient and very effective grill and smoker combination that you simply have to admire.

Using its dual layered steel design from enameled porcelain it gives this grill the ability of insulating a layer of air to keep the heat inside the barbecue making it an incredibly powerful smoker that also has the power to bake or roast anything that your heart may desire.

If you are a little bit unsure about the effectiveness of the steel and air insulation then you shouldn’t be this barbecue can run for 10 hours from one load of charcoal before it even starts to begin to lose heat.

After you become more accustomed to using this grill and get everything the way you want it you can literally load up your game and sit back and wait for it to finish cooking without having to really do much, which allows you to sit back and enjoy the smell it creates.

One of the best things about using a steel kamado other than a ceramic one is that if you get your temperature a little wrong it is a much more forgiving issue to get sorted and won't take a very long time at all to cool down.

Another benefit of using this type of kamado is how light it is due to the materials, a ceramic one would weigh much heavier.

Due to it being so light it is incredibly easy to move the barbecue around your yard so you can find the perfect location to grill in and you won’t have to have major concerns about damaging the ceramics as they are often very delicate.

It also makes it an incredibly easy time lifting the lid of the barbecue, and if you think you are going to struggle on where to put the lid when you take it off don’t worry, it is a hinged spring loaded lid meaning it can just rest in its open position.

With its sturdy stand and wheels not only can you just wheel it around wherever you want but you know that it will be incredibly durable and last you a very long time before you even consider that you may need a new barbecue.

Durability is incredibly important when it comes to a barbecue because you may not be using it for a very long time during the colder months of the year but before you know it it is summer again and you’re left with a previously damaged grill that you forgot about.

You won’t have this issue with the Weber Summit Charcoal grill and smoker.

Once you have finished cooking for the day you can also simply remove the ash catcher and empty it into an appropriate bin and begin the cleaning process, it really is that easier, oh and don’t worry the ash catcher is quite large so will be able to hold a fair amount of ash before you even consider removing it.

Weber honestly has hit it out of the park with this upgraded grill and we honestly can’t wait for you along with your friends and family to try it.

Cooking On The Grill

The Weber Summit Charcoal grill offers a wonderfully sized 452 square in. of space to cook on.

This gives you enough space to cook for up to 7 or 8 people, depending on their portions obviously. It is enough room to even cook an entire chicken.

For those who are unsure on how to properly smoke something then don’t panic as Weber has also included a very useful manual with instructions on how to do it properly.

Weber 18301001 Summit Charcoal Grill, Black

It essentially tells you what amount of charcoal to use and how you can set the dampers to get the temperature right.

It also tells you how long you should leave something in there which is of course dependent on the size of the meat you are trying to smoke.

You don’t have to follow this directly but it is a good starting point while you are learning how to use your new Grill and Smoker.

With regards to grilling, it is very similar to grilling on the former Weber Kettle. The grill has two positions that it can be set up in, one higher and the other one lower, this is dependent on how hot you want to make it.

You need to make sure that you set the coal out very evenly through otherwise you will cause hot spots at certain points meaning everything won’t cook to the best of its ability as you’ll have to keep moving the meat from one area to another which is just generally annoying and easily avoidable.

Weber has also added a hinge to both the grate and the diffuser plate, by doing this it allows you to add more charcoal to get the temperature just right during the middle of your cooking process.

Instead of having to remove your food completely you can just shift it to the side and use tongs to place the charcoal where you need it to be. Everyone knows that lighting charcoal can be an infuriating issue when it’s just not lighting.

Weber has sorted that problem right out for you by using a propane powered ignition, all you have to do is push a button and wait for the coal to get up to the right temperature. It really is that easy.

Due to the fact that this is a Weber designed barbecue you can even upgrade it further by adding many of their other appliances allowing you to cook in even more different ways.

That is right you can add their pizza stone which locks into position or you can even add their cast iron wok which is also made from the same enameled porcelain which is great for doing things such as stir fry.

This is a bigger and better barbecue than Weber have released before, it’s specifically designed for dual purpose so you know you will definitely be able to grill and smoke something at the same time.

And with its extra grill space you should definitely consider this to upgrade your barbecuing skills. It really is one of the highest quality products that is on the market today.

Weber 18301001 Summit Charcoal Grill, Black

With its sturdy frame and wheels you know it will be an incredibly strong product whilst also maintaining its very light weight.

The Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Smoker is a must have for anyone who takes barbecuing serious, this will provide you with the best cooked food as well as providing you with an incredibly relaxing time, as like we mentioned earlier once you get the heat to the required temperature you can sit back and relax waiting for it to finish cooking.

In Summary

The Weber Summit Charcoal Grill and Smoker provides it user with both the best and most relaxing time barbecuing that you can imagine, with its dual layered steel design and insulating air gap it means that none of the heat is getting wasted and it all is being stored for the cooking process.

It is also an incredibly durable product leaving you knowing that it will last you for years and years to come.

The removable ash catcher is a brilliant feature and makes the cleaning process much easier, like stated above you just need to dispose of the ash in the correct way once it has cooled down to a nice temperature.

Again with its hinged lid it is an incredibly user friendly design not leaving you to worry where you should put the lid once you have lifted off to check on your meat.

As well as providing you a manual on how to properly smoke something Weber really has thought of everything when it comes to their upgraded barbecue.

It also provides you with lots of space when cooking which is great for your friends and your family.
